Shifting Gears

Shifting Gears

Hey guys, felt time for an update 😊

The past few months have had quite a few ups and downs on the personal front for both myself and the people close to me, but thankfully, things have started to settle back into a normal and upward-facing groove since then. That’s partially the reason for my being less present on here, though there’s quite a bit more to it on a professional level as well.

When I first came back to social media after my 5-year break in late 2022, it was mainly for the purpose of reconnecting with my audience to share an album I’d been working on with. My channel ended up getting a lot more attention than I’d anticipated, and so I spent the time since then experimenting with different marketing and creative angles to get a feel for the new landscape I’d found myself in.

At the start of this year, I slowed down on producing shorts, while also taking on some new career opportunities, as well as trying on the monthly song requests to promote my Patreon page. These were all fruitful and fun, though it’s become clear to me that in an attempt to clarify the possibilities of my newfound position, I’d also been externalizing a lot of the influence of my productive output, resulting in my original priorities taking the back seat for a time.

This whole journey has really helped to clarify some important gray areas for me, and has taught me a lot about what works, what feels right, and what doesn’t. So I’ve been wrapping up the commitments I’ve made and have become much more selective about any potential new ones, so that I can refocus my energy on finishing the task I originally set out to accomplish, which is to finally get this album out to you guys 😊

I can’t make any promises on dates just yet, as for now, I’m carrying out all of the video editing, mixing, mastering, and promotional strategizing/media on my own—though if all goes well with the release, I should be able to reinvest back into what I’m doing to help move me toward a position where most of my energy can be spent on musical elements rather than mechanical and business-related ones.

Thanks for reading guys, I hope you’re doing well. Until next time 💙
